The final result a convincing 2 - 0 win by Sevilla FC over Valencia CF.


SEVILLA FC EUROPA LEAGUE

Both teams started strongly, with nerves and tension but it was Sevilla which settled down first and gradually began to take over the match. An inspired Sevilla Captain Ratikic took over the controls and began steering his team. The first goal came in the 33rd min when Mbia scored when clearly off-side.Sevilla continued with the pressure and the second came from a great Bacca play and goal in the 36th min.





                     


The Europa League draw ensures that at least one Spanish Football Club will be at the final after Sevilla FC - Valencia CF were matched. The "hot favourite" Juventus plays Benfica, with the Italians being extra motivated to get into this years final which will be played in their home stadium of Turin.

SEVILLA - OPORTO

Porto visited Sevilla FC with a 1 - 0 advantage from the 1º leg match and was "overrun" by the Spanish Football Club winning 4 - 1 and turning around the Q/Final tie to pass into the semi-final phase with a 4 - 2 aggregate.

Sevilla put in an almost perfect first 30 mins to score three goals & change the course of the tie to their advantage. The first was a goal to Rakitic in the 5th min after Bacca was fouled in the penalty area. The second came in the 26th min through Vitolo andthe third with Bacca in the 29th min.

The second half saw Sevilla lose Coke to a red card which left his team down to 10 men. This lifted the hopes of Porto which lifted gear but only found the bar and a confident Sevilla goalkeeper. Against the grain Sevilla sealed it in the 78th min with a fourth scored from Gameiro.
Porto managed a consolation goal thanks to a "cracker" from Queresma in the 90th min. A true beauty of a goal. Final result 4 -1 and a magnificent match of European Football.


 VALENCIA - BASILEA



Similar situation at Valencia with an extraordinary comeback & turnaround of events by the Spanish Football Club. Basilea took a 3 - 0 goal advantage over to play Valencia CF & ended up losing 5 - 0 & with extra-time.

A top match that saw Paco Alcacer score a HAT-TRICK ( 38th, 70th & 113th min ) with another goal scored by Chilean Vargas in the 43th min. Valencia CF took the match into extra-time but Basilea saw two red cards ( Diaz 101st min & Sauro 105th min) that left them with 9 men, a situation that Valencia exploited to get two goals, the already mentioned Alcacer 113th min goal & a fifth from Bernat in the 118th min. 

Great game & exhibition from Valencia which takes the Q/Final with a 5 - 3 aggregate & goes into the Europa League semi-finals. Great night for Spanish Soccer.








The draw for the quarter-finals of the Europa League has paired with Basel Valencia and Sevilla with Porto. The other qualifiers are AZ-Benfica and Lyon-Juventus.
Valencia will play the first leg against the Swiss box in St. Jakob Park, and play around on April 10 at the Mestalla.



Similarly, Sevilla, who eliminated Real Betis play the first leg at the Estadio do Dragao and close the eliminatory at the Sanchez Pizjuan.



BETIS - SEVILLA
